DBT® Nine-week Adult Outpatient Programme

Learn the importance of balancing the acceptance of reality with the need for change.

Our next group starts in June 2023. Our services and programmes are based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The Outpatient DBT Programme is designed for people who are struggling with problems associated with behaviours such as substance use and abuse, eating disorders, mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, and bipolar and personality disorders like Borderline Personality Disorder.

This group is not a replacement for your formal therapy. In a group format, the individual mode of DBT is transferred to a group setting. The group follows a structured agenda that is skills-based and uses most of the same tools, techniques, and interventions characteristically found in individual DBT skill sessions, including behavioural analysis.

DBT programme
Dr. Marsha Lineman developed DBT. This evidence-based approach is the gold standard of treatment for individuals suffering from emotion disregulation, identity confusion, interpersonal difficulties, impulsivity, risky behaviours, relationships.

Goals for Treatment:
Clients will learn how emotions work, how to regulate them, and how to increase positive emotions.
Clients will learn effective ways to manage relationships.
Clients will learn self managing skills and skills for tolerating unavoidable distress
Clients will learn how to change and manage life interfering behaviors.
Clients will learn the importance of balancing the acceptance of reality with the need for change.
