Our services and programmes are based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The Outpatient DBT
Programme is designed for people who are struggling with problems associated with behaviours such as
substance use and abuse, eating disorders, mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, bipolar and
personality disorders like Borderline Personality Disorder. Referrals can come from Psychologist or Psychiatrist
or persons considered ready for this group, would be those who have engaged in therapy and or DBT skills
training for a minimum period of 6 months. This group is not a replacement for your formal therapy.
In a group format, the individual mode of DBT is transferred to a group setting. The group follows a structured
agenda, is skills based, and uses most of the same tools, techniques, and interventions characteristically found in
individual DBT skill sessions, including behavioral analysis.
Goals for Treatment
Clients will learn how emotions work, how to regulate them, and how to increase positive emotions.
Clients will learn effective ways to manage relationships.
Clients will learn self managing skills and skills for tolerating unavoidable distress
Clients will learn how to change and manage life interfering behaviours.
Clients will learn the importance of balancing the acceptance of reality with the need for change.
We would like to bring to your attention our ongoing DBT programmes.

DBT and the help it gave me 😊 When I was first told I’d be going to a 13 week DBT course I was hardly excited, and I had started a new job on the first day of DBT. I dreaded walking into a new place with new people, but I very quickly , as in within the first few minutes changed my mind. And now I yearn for Wednesday’s. Jonathan and Mark helped me in ways I couldn’t even dream possible, they helped me develop intricate skills in managing my BPD, and seeing it as more than an illness. I feel empowered by it now, like I’m in control. The course was more like a family group to me, where I could be the clown I am and see no judgement, share things I’d usually feel ashamed of and get different prospectives from people of different walks of life. I’m not sure if I could recommend this course enough, it’ll change how you see this “illness” and it’ll really help to change your mindset. What an absolute pleasure it was and an honor to have been part of such a special group. 10/10Abigail
